A Testimony

My message to all of you, my family and friends, today is simple. It does not come from me but I have felt very much impressed by the Lord to give a message from Him. "Come Unto Christ". He is coming, this has been testified by the Holy Ghost to me.

God has sent an obscure messenger (much like John the Baptist in his day, Abinadi and Samuel the Lamanite in the Book of Mormon and many, many others) to preach repentance and preserving the Restoration given by the Prophet Joseph Smith. "Preserving the Restoration" by Denver C Snuffer, Jr. He has been sent by God to bring us back to the Restoration to remind us to "Come Unto Christ". We must understand and live the Doctrine of Christ (2 Nephi 31 & 3 Nephi 11) We must have faith, but that requires a true understanding of what that is and how it works. (My recommendation is the Lectures of Faith which was given through Joseph Smith by God, a copy of the original not tampered with 1835 version, you can get that on Amazon. It's under the title "Joseph Smith Begins His Work" by Wilford C Wood. The Lectures of Faith are scripture, sustained and canonized by the early LDS church in 1835). It is no longer a part of the Doctrine and Covenants but it should be. We must repent which requires us to remember what was given to Joseph Smith by God. God vouched for Joseph Smith in his day and God vouches for him still today.

We must turn to Christ and seek His face. D&C 93:1 "Verily, thus saith the Lord: It shall come to pass that every soul who forsaketh his sins and cometh unto me, and calleth on my name, and obeyeth my voice, and keepeth my commandments, shall see my face and know that I am;" this is not hypothetical, this is literal. We must be baptized. God has given a covenant and it is through baptism that we accept this covenant. Baptism is not a one time deal. When God begins something anew we accept it by being baptized. He has begun something anew will you accept it?

The Book of Mormon is God's word. We have taken it lightly and are under condemnation. Let us study it for the treasure that it holds. We must seek the mysteries of God held within that sacred record, it tells us over and over to "Come to Christ". Let's heed the words within the Book of Mormon given by God's messengers who have been in His presence and remember the covenant God has made to His people.
Have faith, repent, be baptized, implement the Doctrine of Christ. These things will bring us to Christ and we will stand in the day He comes.

Moroni 10:4 "And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost.
5And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things."

This is my testimony to you in love and through God's Holy Spirit, in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Paula Hurst.

My own searching for further light and truth led me to find the Second Book of Commandments. It is a continuation of the gift restored again to earth with the Prophet Joseph to receive and write the Word of the Lord. You should consider it. It shows, however, that Denver is not a true servant of the Lord, notwithstanding his great skill in understanding and teaching.

I perceive we are all potential children or servants of God if we immerse ourselves into the attributes, character and perfections of godliness as put forth in Lectures on Faith.

The one command of God to ancient Israel and modern Israel is to "be holy" ... "holiness" is a potential attribute all are endowed with... if one follows that path to its fullness he or she will be in Zion, the Church of the Firstborn or Church of the Lamb of God as the BOM points out.

The reality is you don't need organized religion to be "holy." And you don't have to disavow it either to be "holy." As the LDS Bible Dictionary point out:

"The Law of Holiness (Lev. 17–26) shows how the attempt was made by means of ceremonial observances to secure this holiness of character. The attempt failed because the later Jews observed the letter and neglected the spirit; they attached more importance to the ceremonial than to the moral; and the result was a lapse into formalism. But in the writings of the Prophets it is clearly laid down that the value of worship in the eyes of God depends upon the personal character of the worshipper."

That is a beautiful and powerfully true testimony!

God bless you for sharing this!

Thank you for your testimony. Indeed, the Doctrine of Christ (2Nep 31-32:6 and 3 Neph 11-12:2) is the Lord's word to our day. Come unto Christ is the message.
There are prophets from outside the LDS hierarchy preaching the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ with power and authority, Denver Snuffer is perhaps the best know, but not the only one.
Do not rely on anything produced by modern authors and naysayers to prove or disprove these modern prophets. Rely on the scriptures and on the promptings of the Holy Ghost. Not all who claim messages from the Lord are real messengers, in fact there are many false prophets-wolves in sheeps' clothing. However, some of the messengers are real and dismissing them without seeking Divine guidance is a very serious mistake.

Thank you for pointing out the fact there are others and not just Denver, that God has sent. That testimony was originally posted on my FB to people I know. Indeed there are other holy men we know not of that are proclaiming God's words, I do not deny this.
How do we discern the truth from the error, the right from the wrong? The wolf in sheeps clothing v. the true messenger? As you pointed out as well, by scripture and the Holy Ghost.
Moroni 10:5 "And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things."
According to Denver, (sorry I'm going to refer to him again), in his book 'Essays: Three Degrees' he says that we must rely on the Spirit as Moroni directs to find truth and in 2 Nephi 28 there are 10 times we are warned that in "the last days we will fail, be misled, and accept as true things which are false."
(p. 14-18) Note in verses of 4, 5, 6, 12, 14, 15, 26, 29, & 31, Nephi is warning us of where we will go wrong. If we deny the power of God and deny the Holy Ghost we will utterly fail.
